Welcome to this geometry course. This course will help you to understand, master and teach the geometry. One of the four broad learning outcomes of the National Curriculum Statements for grades 10 to 12 is about shape, space and measurement. According to this outcome an aim of the new curriculum is to enable the students to explore, describe, represent, analyse and explain properties of shapes in 2- and 3-dimensional space. Students must also be able to give reasons for what they do with these shapes. The purpose of this module is to equip you with visualisation and problem-solving skills that are relevant to the teaching of school geometry. We are going to expose you to the problem centred approach, so that you can experience first-hand the power of this approach in the learning of geometry.
